Minority, Women, & Small Business Enterprise Citizen Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Tallahassee-Leon County Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprise Citizen Advisory Committee is to monitor the progress of the MSWBE program relative to the goals established by the Board and the Commission. The committee gives input to the Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency and the MWSBE Division of the Office of Economic Vitality in the PLACE Department as follows: reviewing and providing MWSBE policy alternatives, as well as providing programmatic recommendations relative to seeking resolution of disputes regarding Certification and Good Faith Effort.
Joint Resolution No. 17-03 / 17-R-11 adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on February 7, 2017 and adopted by the City Commission on February 22, 2017.
Decision Making Committee
All members must be Leon County residents.
One member appointed by the Board and one member appointed by the City shall have expertise in the fields of Architecture, Construction or Engineering.
Total of eleven (11) members:
  • Four (4) members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners
  • Four (4) members appointed by the City Commission
  • One (1) member appointed by the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce 
  • One (1) member appointed by the Capital City Chamber of Commerce 
  • One (1) member appointed by the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce

Maximum Number of Terms: 3
Initial Staggered Terms:
  • Two members appointed by the City and two members appointed by the County to serve for an initial one-year term.
  • Two members appointed by the City and two members appointed by the County to serve for an initial two-year term.
  • Members appointed by the chambers of commerce to serve for an initial 2-year term.
After the initial appointments, all terms will be for two years, with no member serving more than three consecutive two-year terms per the resolution.
