Water Resources Committee

Considers the value provided of the various lakes and related water resources of Leon County, including groundwater, and to provide input and recommendations to County staff with regard to any necessary or appropriate policies, regulations, management activities and long-term funding strategies that protect or enhance these values, while considering the various impacts to these resources from accelerated runoff, including flooding and surface and groundwater degradation.

Focus Group

Members shall be representatives of four interest groups:

• conservation/environment
• legal/planning
• real estate/economic development
• boating/fishing

Report to the Board of County Commissioners at least annually.

7 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, with each Commissioner appointing one member.

Maximum Number of Terms: 3
Staggered initial terms:

• Districts 1 and 3, and At-Large 1 appointed members with initial terms of three (3) years.
• Districts 2 and 4 appointed members with initial terms of two (2) years.
• District 5 and At-Large 2 appointed members with initial terms of one (1) year.

After the initial appointments, all terms will be for four (4) years, with no member serving more than three consecutive four-year terms per Resolution No. 15-43.
Vacancies are filled for the remainder of the unexpired term.
