Road Improvements Continue on Kinhega Drive

When Construction Starts, Business Doesn’t Stop!

With school out for the summer, Leon County Government continues construction on the Kinhega Drive Roundabout to promote safer and faster travel by car and by foot. The project represents the final segment of an interconnection improvement known as the Beech Ridge Trail Extension.

As the area around the intersection of Thomasville Road, Bannerman and Bradfordville Roads have continued to develop, so has the need for roadway improvements. The Kinhega Drive Roundabout Project will allow drivers to better access both existing and future commercial development, while also alleviating traffic congestion. The roundabout will best serve today's community, and also the community of tomorrow as the area continues to grow and develop.

Throughout improvements, shops and businesses will remain open inside or near Bradfordville Commons and along Beech Ridge Trail. Beech Ridge Trail is only open for business and Beech Ridge Trail residential access. Remaining traffic will be detoured to Bannerman Road and Tekesta Drive. Traffic is scheduled to resume in mid-August 2015.

Consistent with Leon County's Outreach Partnerships and Enhanced Navigation (OPEN) for Business Program, a marketing plan branded "Open for Business During Kinhega Improvements" has been developed and implemented to promote businesses near the intersection of Kinhega Drive and Thomasville Road.
