Access Leon County through New Mobile-Friendly Website

In its continuing effort to connect with citizens in ways they use most, today Leon County Government launched a mobile-friendly version of its main website. The new website is easy to navigate and puts Leon County’s services at citizens’ fingertips.

“We live in an ever-changing world and, at Leon County, we work hard to stay ahead of the curve,” said Leon County Administrator Vincent S. Long. “With advancements and technology, we expanded our reach.”

According to Pew Research, more than half of American adults own a smartphone, and slightly less than half own a tablet. To engage these citizens, Leon County’s mobile website features emergency management updates, the Board of County Commissioners’ calendar, Commission Meeting agendas, and Citizens Connect – an online feature that allows users to connect with expert staff or take and upload a photo for services, such as a pothole repair or garbage pickup. Additionally, users can share news highlights and stories on social media.

“Leon County is using technology to bring citizens closer to government,” said Pat Curtis, Director of Leon County Management Information Services. “The new responsive design provides condensed, easily accessible County information and makes for a smooth user experience since it was natively built for mobile devices.”

The Leon County mobile website is accessible by visiting on a mobile device. Also, the site provides users the option to access the full desktop version of the Leon County main website from their devices.
