Leon County Board of County Commissioners
Housing Finance Authority of Leon County

The HFA is a special district that functions to alleviate a shortage of affordable housing and investment capital for residents who meet specific income qualifications. The HFA encourages investment by private enterprise and stimulates construction and rehabilitation of housing through use of public financing and the provision of low-cost loans to purchase affordable housing.

The Board has the sole discretion to alter or change the structure, organization, programs or activities of the HFA, or to terminate the HFA. Additionally, Board approval by resolution is required for bond issuance by the HFA.

The Chairman of the Housing Finance Authority or other HFA member designee, also serves on the Community Development Block Grant Citizens Advisory Task Force.
